Big Walk Beginner Guide
OfficialHow to start playing Big Walk, what communication tools like the walkie-talkie do, and how to stay together with friends in co-op, based on official sources.
Getting Started
Big Walk is a cooperative adventure for 2 to 12 players where the whole group explores a wide-open world together. Communication is the core mechanic: a proximity voice chat makes voices fade across distances, echo down corridors, muffle through walls, and crackle through walkie-talkies, and a matching text chat works the same way.
The key idea is simple: walk far, stay together. There is no single-player mode and no matchmaking, so you will play with people you know, over multiple sessions. Your group needs to coordinate who goes where, which tool to use, and how to meet up again.
Start by completing the four beach-side gourd puzzles in the starting area to lower the drawbridge, then tackle the Red Tower's five puzzles to unlock the Map Room. See the multiplayer guide for hosting, join codes, and voice chat details.
